Warhaven’s on-line services are being shut down in April, less than 7 months after its early-access launch

It is a game that will join the likes of FTL and Spulunky as games that are forever in my regular rotation, and for a game like this, I can offer pelo higher praise.

Phantom Abyss is an asymmetric-multiplayer, temple-based puzzle game in which players charge through trap dungeons in hopes of securing expensive items of great renown.

That's not a knock in any sense however, as Team WIBY nailed what this game needed to be from the get-go, and has since bolstered it further with more ways to play, additional challenges, and a tighter performance - not that the game ever really played badly in the first place.

Essentially, don't expect to find a revamped or a completely new Phantom Abyss experience with this 1.0 update, because that isn't what this is. Instead, what you'll find is simply an upgrade and slight improvement to various aspects and parts of the entire framework that constitutes what Team WIBY created in the first place.

Phantom Abyss is a massive asynchronous multiplayer game that casts players into procedurally-generated temples and tasks them with retrieving the sacred relics hidden within deadly chambers. Intrepid adventurers will dodge scores of hidden traps, leap treacherous chasms, and flee relentless guardians through branching paths until one of the relics are claimed or the devices of death overwhelm them. Be warned, you only get one attempt at each temple and failure or settling for a lesser relic means you will never see that temple again... The cleverest players will use the phantom runs of failed attempts from other players to their advantage and avoid the missteps and mistakes that led to their doom. Asynchronous Multiplayer Explore the perilous halls and colossal rooms of each temple alongside the phantoms of fallen players that came before you.
